Bold keyword in search results (like Google)
Caleb Scharf
Currently search results display the article title and the first 82 characters in the article. This is frequently not enough information for the user to choose the right article. And when they don't, they have to re-type their search term and try again.
Instead of displaying the first 82 charters (still display the article title) the results should display 2-3 lines of sentences of where the search terms appeared in the article and highlight them, like google does. See attached picture.
Doing this will empower the user to select the most relevant article on their first try.

Are there any updates on this? While the search function is good (especially when using keywords), often you're left wondering if the recommended article is the right one to click because what you've typed into the search appears nowhere in the search results. In this example, both the top 2 articles contain the information on 'map to inventory', but in the search results, rather than showing snippets of what you've searched for and how it applies to that article, it only shows the first couple of lines of the article, which is irrelevant to what i have typed in the search. I've also included an image of our previous CMS to compare how they did it.

Can you comment on this? We’ve now reached 170 articles and the search results are getting less helpful by the day.

Maybe HJ can embed google search results for the specific KB domain, right into their product?
