When using the API, updating a published article only allows the state of the article to be "published:true" and "published:false" meaning that you can either make live edits or take the article offline. When using AI agents and the v3 API, for which you would want oversight, this means that you would have to allow them to publish directly into the internet, or take your articles down until you've reviewed and republished them.

There should be the ability to create draft versions just as the UI allows, but via the API.
