Same here - problem still exists. Additional comment on this: The problem seems to be not that it comes back after saving/publishing. The problem is that nothing changes after deleting the TOC. So no new draft that could be published. And that was the case a while back when it worked.

Tested this out today and it didn't seem to work. deleted a bunch of items in the TOC. made a change to the article later in the day and they all came back again.

Do we have any update on this? Since over 6 weeks we cant delete the TOC which leads to a bad user experience on the front end.

When we publish an article or create a new Version, the Table of Contents will regenerate automatically.
