Would love to follow up on this one - is there an update as to if/when we might get custom user roles? I'm finding the need to have people who can draft edits without publishing... unfortunately, the current Draft Writer role allows for new categories to be created but not deleted. This is just an example of a major gap that a custom user role would solve! It's quite common to need to take different responsibilities from different existing roles and create a custom role. Thanks in advance!

Marissa Fegan We're also finding the need to have subject experts review content, but do not want them to publish before the writing team can check formatting for our standards. Better or custom roles are essential!

A role with read only/report access would be very useful. May higher level team members want report access, but currently can only do this through admin rights. This gives too many people access to publish and make other system changes which can be very problematic.

I'm confused by the posts below as to where this one stands. Is it a feature that is live but just has to be enabled? We'd like to have a "Reviewer" role that we can assign to people, so they can just see the Draft versions of articles before they get published. Should I put that request in it's own post?

Custom Role for an Internal Knowledge base

In our scenario, we are using help juice as an Internal knowledge base for our organization to manage the Knowledgebase of different departments. Each department should only be able to manage their own assigned Category. To manage it efficiently and to avoid any conflict, we would request you to create a new customize role the same as a collaborator with a few below changes.
• Only super admin & admin can create parent category and assign to other roles.
• It should only be able to create and manage child categories under the parent category that is
assigned to them by admin or super admin.
• It shouldn’t have an option to create parent categories and articles outside the parent category.
• Disable public sharing option from Create Category screen.
• The Public sharing option from Action drop-down should also be disabled.
• It shouldn’t be able to move any child category outside the parent category and vice versa. They should only be able to move child categories within their parent category.
• This role should also have an ability to view Analytics to their assigned category or simply have a Category filter along with Date filter in the existing Analytics module.
