Cannot Replace Images in the File Manager
Dan Coleman
I cannot replace images in the file manager unless the image I upload to replace the current image has a different name. In addition, when I replace an image it does NOT automatically update/replace the image in any articles the image appears in. I must delete the image, then add it back to the article to see the updated image. This is a big deal when a UI update occurs and we need to update/replace an image that appears in many help articles. Thanks

I have downloadable files that need to be updated occasionally and the "replace" function is not working. In fact, the links in the article which were theoretically updated still point to the old files that are still downloadable. This could be a big problem because the old files are supposed to be "deleted," at least the way I understand the word "remove" in the Replace File warning.
FWIW this type of thing is much more important to me than any AI feature.

This is occurring with PDFs as well. And, as the OP stated, files are not being updated on article pages where they are embedded. Even when we use a different file name and the replacement works in the file manager, the old file is still showing on article pages. I've created a dedicated bug report for this behavior here: https://helpjuice.canny.io/bugs/p/embedded-files-not-being-updated-with-new-version.

I encountered this as well trying to replace an image with a file of the same name. Replace should just replace, regardless of the file name.

Same issue on my end. There's a specific naming scheme that's being followed to keep tens of thousands of images organized, and changing the names to be able to replace them is pretty tedious, not to mention if I just skip this step altogether because it doesn't work and I have to replace them manually...
